Paula uses a slab roller to flatten clay for handbuilt pottery.The slabs are perfect vehicles to

receive textures. Texturing tools are "borrowed" from other traditional places, often from the

kitchen. In right photo above ,clock-wise from top left: comb; decorative wood molding;

plaster texture tool; Romanian religious bread stamp; batik stamp from India;

wire mesh; and onion bag. The hand built pieces below use textures as a design element.
