Stamps for Decoration
Paula uses foam to cut stamps, pictured above, that she uses to decorate her unfired pottery. The foam stamps are dipped or brushed with slip or underglaze and gently pressed on to the surface of a piece. Notice the use of the same stamp in several plates. After the pieces are bisqued, more color may be added and then a clear glaze is applied and the piece is fired again, to make it permanent.
